I said I was fine again

Maya asked how I was doing and I said fine before she finished the sentence. She let it go, and I was relieved, and then I was disappointed that she let it go. I say it so nobody has to ask twice. Then I got home, sat in the car with the engine off for twenty minutes, and couldn’t have told you what was wrong. I just didn’t want to walk in yet.

Reflection

You answered before she could finish. That wasn’t calm, it was practice. And the twenty minutes in the car sound less like nothing was wrong and more like there was nowhere to put it.

Who in your life would you let ask you twice, and what would you say the second time?

Maya, probably. She’s the only one who waits after I say it.

Unfold became Unfould when we added a u.

Because the point was never an app that understands you. It was helping you understand yourself.

How it works

You write

A line or a page. No prompts to answer, no streak to protect.

It reflects

It shows you what you actually said. Not advice, not a diagnosis.

It asks one thing

The question a good friend would ask, and then it gets out of the way.

One question, on purpose.

Ten prompts are easy to ignore. Unfould notices what actually mattered in what you wrote, and asks the one thing that helps you see it differently.

You wrote

I went quiet again when the review drifted.

Unfould

You had the words ready. What stopped wasn’t your thinking, it was your voice.

What would you have said if the room had waited?

Inside Unfould

Built like a notebook, not a feed.

A blank page when you want one, a thread of everything you’ve written when you want that instead.

Every entry, kept and searchable.

It remembers, gently.

Entries don’t vanish into a timeline. Over weeks, Unfould notices the threads that keep returning, and brings them back when they’re useful, not as a chart.

Three Sundays in a row

The week hasn’t even started and I’m already behind.

Last Tuesday

I said yes before I’d thought about it. Again.

This week

“You’ve mentioned Sundays three times this month. What are you protecting them from?”

Some days a photo says it.

Drop in the light through the trees, the note on the fridge, the page you wrote by hand. Unfould keeps it with the words, where it belongs.

“Walked it off afterwards. The reservoir path, around twice.”

Wed · Jul 15, the reservoir path, late afternoon.

Yours alone.

A journal only works if you can be honest in it. So the rules are simple, and they don’t change.

Private by default

Every entry is yours alone. Nobody at Unfould reads what you write.

Never sold, never ads

We never sell your writing, and we never use it to target you.

Delete anytime

Remove one entry or all of them in two taps. Gone means gone.

A journal, not a therapist

Unfould never diagnoses or treats. For care, please reach for a person.

Before you start

Do I have to write every day?
No. There’s a streak if you like them, and nothing breaks if you don’t. Come back when you have something to say.
How long does an entry need to be?
One sentence is enough. You can type it, speak it as a voice memo, or photograph a handwritten page.
What if I don’t want a question back?
Turn reflections off for any entry, or entirely. Then it’s simply a very good place to write.
What happens after the 7 days?
It becomes $59.99/year. Cancel any time in the App Store. Your entries stay yours, and you can export them.

Start a better conversation with yourself.
